MBH was appointed by Motor Fuel Group Limited (MFG) to oversee the design and construction of a comprehensive roadside services project. This multifaceted undertaking included the development of a petrol filling station complemented by ancillary retail floor space and a host of associated external improvements, drainage systems, and Section 278 Highways works.

The Section 278 street works were an integral part of the project, encompassing a series of tasks such as carriageway widening to facilitate smooth site access, surfacing work, street lighting installations, the placement of signage, and road marking activities. These elements were essential to ensure that the site seamlessly integrated into its surroundings and provided a safe and efficient environment for customers and passersby.

A distinctive feature of the project was the construction of a new sales building with a steel frame structure, accentuated by the use of insulated panels on its external elevations. This design choice not only provided the building with a modern and appealing appearance but also offered practical benefits in terms of insulation and energy efficiency.

The scope of work extended to the forecourt area, where a new canopy was erected over four pump islands, offering protection and convenience to customers during fuelling. Furthermore, a below-ground tank farm was established, complete with an interstitial pressure space monitoring system, wired through a sophisticated leak detection mechanism. This system ensured the utmost safety and environmental responsibility in managing the site's fuel storage.

Additional enhancements included the installation of an A/W (Air and Water) Unit, a Vacuum Unit, protection bollards, new parking bays, kerbing, a jet wash unit, and related plant equipment. The project also incorporated forward-thinking infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs), featuring 07no. EV chargers and dedicated bays, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable transportation options.

In summary, MBH's involvement in this project extended beyond the construction of a simple petrol filling station; it encompassed a holistic approach to road infrastructure, retail facilities, environmental safety, and future-forward EV readiness, resulting in a well-rounded and forward-thinking roadside services development.
