Andrew MurrinAndrew Murrin
Andrew joined McCarthy Bainbridge Partnership in 1985 as a Quantity Surveyor. He later assumed the helm as Principal Partner in 1998 and later acquired David Hollis Partnership, amalgamating the two businesses to create the MBH brand, trading in the guise of MBH Partnership LLP.
Andrew has been CEO of MBH Design Studio Ltd since the company’s restructuring and incorporation in May 2014. In January 2019 Andrew moved into the position of Chairman, handing the everyday running of the business to Julian.
His ongoing career has afforded him a wide range of experience in the design, surveying and management of many types of buildings and development both nationally and internationally. These have been within various sectors and industries including retail, oil, leisure, hospitality and residential.
He is responsible for the day to day running of the Practice and is involved, at a senior level, with all projects that the Practice undertakes. From day to day, Andrew is responsible for project management services, and his overall practice responsibilities include strategic management and client relationships.
Andrew has been a Chartered member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors since 1992.

Julian Von BuddenbrockJulian Von Buddenbrock
Julian joined MBH in 2006 and became a Director following the company’s restructuring as a limited company in May 2014. In January 2019 Julian was made Managing Director following Andrew Murrin's move into a Chairman role, he will now be responsible for the everyday running of the business.
On joining, his responsibilities were primarily focused on the feasibility stages of projects for most of our large retail clients. Later in 2009, Julian’s competence and strong leadership contributed to him acquiring the title of Feasibility Manager, and then Senior Feasibility Manager in 2011, a role in which he oversaw the output of his team producing such studies.
Presently, he continues to oversee the team producing feasibility studies for our major retail and commercial clients, while focussing more on his role as Director of Business Development and fostering new client relationships.
Julian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa, specialising in Finance and Economics. In 2013 he attained PRINCE2 certification for effective project management.

Warren SmithWarren Smith
Originally trained as a Building Surveyor, Warren joined MBH in 1988. He later became a Partner in 2002 and, more recently, was named a Director following the company’s restructuring from a limited liability partnership to a limited company in May 2014.
Over his career, Warren has compiled a wide range of professional experience in the design, surveying and management of many types of building and development within the retail, leisure, hospitality and oil industries throughout the United Kingdom.
Warren’s specialist knowledge of the design, construction and project management of petrol filling station projects, in particular, provides him the expertise to oversee this portion of MBH’s work stream from day to day.

Ola OwolabiOla Owolabi
Ola joined MBH in 2010 from one of the largest construction consultancies in the world where she was an architectural designer for the building surveying teams based in North West England.
She became a Director in May 2014.
Her role as Practice Manager makes her responsible, not only for the smooth running of the office or the general management issues associated with such a role, but also for the development and training of our staff so that our capability to deliver projects on time and to a high quality is maintained.
Ola is an outstanding architectural designer with expertise in design solutions and delivery and a passion for perfection. She is a specialist in construction detailing, co-ordination and project management. Her experience covers a vast range of sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, education, agriculture, healthcare, retail, religious and hospitality.
Ola is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and is also an Affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Ankit ShahAnkit Shah
Ankit Joined MBH in October 2007 and became a Director in May 2014.
His general practice responsibilities include the leadership of one of our retail design teams and the maintenance of the client relationships associated with these projects. In addition, Ankit is responsible for the management and supervision of MBH’s satellite office in India, the conception of which was Ankit’s own innovative idea to help the company increase efficiency. He has undertaken this role from our UK office since June 2013.
He is a registered Architect in India, having completed his architectural studies there in 2001, and has accumulated a significant amount of experience in a wide range of design disciplines both in the UK and India. The varied experience he has gained has afforded him a thorough understanding of the built environment, both in terms of individual building design and also detailed internal environments.
Ankit is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

Phil BarrettPhil Barrett
Philip joined MBH in April 2002 and is an Associate Director.
His practice responsibilities include the leadership of our petrol filling station design team, the management of the client relationships associated with these projects and, in a general day to day capacity, the management and maintenance of the company’s IT system.
Historically, Philip has worked with many of the major oil companies including Shell, BP, Esso, Murco and Tesco, as well as many independent entities, all contributing to combined experience in excess of 250 projects. Other than his specialist experience with petrol filling station design, Philip has also gained experience on a wide variety of other projects in the residential and retail sectors.
With our ever expanding client base, Philip dedicates a large proportion of his time to the training and development of new and existing staff and, in parallel, the management and development of the company’s hardware infrastructure.
Philip is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

Jonny RichardsonJonny Richardson
Jonny joined MBH in May 2014 and became an Associate Director in June 2021.
His general practice responsibilities include the leadership of one our key accounts within the Fuel and EV sector and the maintenance of the client relationships associated with these projects and in a general day to day capacity.
